About Us

The Bowling Proprietors Association of Alberta, now operating as Bowl Alberta, is a non-profit society made up of 51 member bowling centres across the province of Alberta, with the primary objective of “enhancing the Sports of 5 Pin and 10 Pin bowling in such a manner so as to improve the games for all parties involved.”

Bowl Alberta is the first source for information regarding the bowling industry in Alberta. With information regarding anything from how to purchase a centre, setting up leagues and open play, and how to contact bowling industry manufacturers and suppliers, Bowl Alberta will assist all parties interested in becoming involved in the business of bowling in the Province of Alberta.

Raising funds through fees, dues, and assessments charged to its members, as well as through local fund-raisers, Bowl Alberta and its staff presently administer and coordinate 5 Youth programs, 3 Seniors programs, and 6 Adult programs, all of which lead to a Provincial Championship and/or a National Final. Affiliated with Bowl Canada (B.P.A.C.), Bowl Alberta also administers the Youth Bowl Alberta and the Alberta Club 55+ programs, and boasts membership of some 1600 Youths and 2200 Senior Citizens. Each bowling season, a contingent of 38 YBC 5 Pin bowlers and coaches, and 8 YBC 10 Pin bowlers and coaches, represents Alberta at the National YBC Championships sponsored by Bowl Alberta and Bowl Canada. As well, 4 Senior Citizens travel to their own National Finals carrying the Bowl Alberta banner.

We’re proud as well to tell all about the Youth Scholarships awarded each season at our YBC Provincial Finals, where in cooperation with the Bowling Federation of Alberta, we hand out a total of $11,000.00 in Educational Scholarships. Sponsored by Bowl Alberta each season, is our YBC 5 Pin Scholarship Tournament, where we award in excess of $12,000.00 to young bowlers aged 7 thru 19. Check with your local Manager or Proprietor to get details on our Youth Scholarship Program.

Within the Province of Alberta itself, Bowl Alberta sponsors several Provincial programs, such as our Bowl Alberta Singles, Bowl Alberta Doubles, and Bowl Alberta Team Championships, where we award some $25,000.00 in Cash Prizes and advance the winners to the new All-Events Championships. Back again for the 2016-17 season is our Bowl Alberta Adult All-Events Championships, duplicating the youth event that has been running for seven very successful years now. Bowl Alberta will be adding $8,000.00 to this event alone, ensuring its high participation and success rate. In all, in our 5 Pin and 10 Pin Provincial Finals, Bowl Alberta will award over $50,000.00 in Cash Prizes each season.
